Ethan, Zodiac–Shaela, Chisum

Our horses are amazing. We LOVE them. We went on our first official ride today! We have taken a few small ones around the neighborhood but Ethan and I took the horses out on a nice long 4 hour ride today! It was GREAT!!! We absolutely loved it.

Ethan is definitely getting into the horses more and more. We cant wait to go again tomorrow! We finally found some horses that compliment each other and us very well! Only took how many horses?

ZODIAC is such a fabulous horse! We lucked out on him. Look he doesnt even need to be held onto. He’s just standing there! Its fabulous!

We tried to do a self timer…it worked ok. but i had to hurry down a bunch of rocks and the dang weed got in the way!!  Oh well, we still had a BLAST!!!

What is new what is new? well we finally got all of the weeds out of our yard, THANKS to our AMAZING friends, neighbors, and ward. We love you guys! Next up is to lay our sod HOPEFULLY by next Wednesday! Pictures will be up for that soon. Next on our list…sadly we sold Sage. ( She was an amazing horse but with Ethan just getting into riding it made it really hard to have a horse that would rather be in the arena than on the trail, and well….we need a trail horse. So Sage now went to a Wonderful home in Idaho and we are very happy with it. We replaced her with a new fabulous horse. He is a gorgeous Buckskin (cream, with black mane, tail, and socks). He is great and Ethan and i cant wait to go on long trail rides together as we get to know this horse even more and make him more of our family…his name...CHISUM. he came with that name and we liked it enough to keep it that. Yes it is Chisum after the great John Wayne movie!

a FLASH FLOOD!!!

It was the craziest thing i think we had ever seen with weather! Ethan and i were heading to a movie and dinner with some friends when it started raining, then pouring, then hailing, the FLOODING!!! The streets were a river! We tried to close the garage backing out of the driveway buy the hail kept hitting the sensors preventing it from closing. so we pulled the volvo back in and had to pull the garage door release to get it to close. We then decided to take the Jeep!! After all that kind of weather is what a Jeep is made for!!  Sadly a few neighbors houses got flooded. I think we got lucky because our house sits on a hill, so everything drains off pretty easily!

The Street was even worse than this! I took this picture after it had stopped and was starting to drain down the storm drains! But it was still crazy!!!!

Well Ethan OFFICIALLY rode his horse all by himself! He did quite well and so did Zodiac. Other than one small incident. Sage got to run and once she runs she doesn’t like to quit! Which got Zodiac a little antsy, but did very well! Sadly we are also selling Sage. She needs too experienced of a rider to ride her (which makes me the only one that can ride her) so we are going to sell her and get a good all around trail horse. The lady interested in her wanted a barrel racing video. That went very well but my body hurts now! Its been a while since i ran them!

FIREWORKS, BASEBALL, FRIENDS, FUN!!!

Its officially Pioneer day and Ethan and I had a BLAST! He got up nice and early and went golfing (sorry i wasnt there so no pictures, when i say early i mean EARLY…6:30 a.m.) He got home and hung out while i went swimming and hung out by the pool with my friend Brittney. It was SO hot! Its been in the 100′s almost everyday the last 2 weeks. The poor horses haven’t even been ridden!

Thanks to our FABULOUS neighbor and dear friend Abby, we got tickets to go to the BEE“s game (Utahs minor league baseball team, call ups for the ANGELS). We had a ton of fun with great friends!

HAPPY PIONEER DAY EVERYONE!!!!!!!

Here in Utah we have a special holiday every year on July 24th called PIONEER DAY. We give complete and full credit to our amazing pioneers who gave up everything they knew and loved to come out west to escape religious persecution and for helping to settle the great state of Utah…and for our extra little holiday!

Well we decided to kick the holiday off early. Ethan and I both got off early and went to see SALT with Ethans work. it was SUCH a good movie! We HIGHLY recommend it! Then we headed up to Bountiful!

Kaylee, Marti, Cassie, Ethan and I went to the BOUNTIFUL PARADE. We had so much fun. Right at the beginning, when the cops were doing their showing off on their motorcycles, two cops crashed….One was Popping a Wheelie and the other was spinning circles, well they miss judged their distances, and crashed into each other. Neither was injured badly, but it was kind of funny to see them do it, after knowing they were okay, that is. Kaylee LOVED all the candy, and the Otter Pops, she ate 3, gave 1 to M and 1 to Ethan!

For Shaela’s Birthday and the 4th of July we went down to SUNNY California!! It was so much fun! We went to Disneyland and the beach and shopping and to see The Twilight Saga: Eclipse! Then had a yummy birthday dinner and an AMAZING birthday cake my mom  made. Pumpkin and then FIREWORKS at DISNYLAND!!!  It was SOOOO much fun!!!

Well Ethan is the proud owner of his very own horse….not that he will probably do much with it…but its still his…It will be great to have 2 so we can have friends be able to ride with us…His name is ZODIAC…it was supposed to be after the constellations and everything because of the spotting on his butt looks like constellations (he’s an Appaloosa) but Ethan claims its after the “Zodiac Killer” ha ha ha…whatever makes him happy. I personally love him because he looks like my old appaloosa Slick!

Ethan did ride him yesterday…bareback…no saddle or bridle. just hooked his lead rope to his halter. he started trotting and Ethan didnt know what do do and slid right off his back. it was kinda funny! Now all Ethan needs to do is actually learn how to ride…It does take skill! ha ha ha
